This spring baby shower is very feminine and glamorous. Even though this shower was spring inspired, it would be perfect for anytime of the year.
I co-hosted this baby shower with my sister, Nicole. We wanted to do something elegant and girly without being too "baby". The guest of honor liked the color peach, so we went with that and incorporated shades of coral and light pink. We also added lots of bling to give it that glam feel.
This was a major DIY project and we made most of the decorations and desserts ourselves. Read on for tons of photos and DIY tutorials.

The dessert table was the main display table. The backdrop was a curtain from IKEA with strands of acrylic beads attached. I bought a beaded curtain from shopwildthings.com and cut off the strands (a little tip I learned from HWTM , she was also the inspiration behind the tree centerpiece). There were enough strands on one curtain for the backdrop, the manzanita centerpiece and even to string to banner. We also hung several tissue poms from the ceiling.
On each end of the table, were carnation balls on top of a trumpet vase with aqua gems as a filler. Aqua gems are these little beads that you soak in water, and when they are fully hydrated, they look like glass marbles. They are really inexpensive and come in many colors too. The carnation balls were supposed to be another diy project, but it was too much at the end. So, we had them made by Mildred's Florals.
The tree centerpiece was made using manzanita branches, flowers, and strands of beads. {See our manzanita centerpiece tutorial here.}.
We also made a homemade banner and hung it on the front of the table with safety pins.
For the dessert table, we decided to do a bunch of bite size desserts. This way there is a little something for everyone and they are also easy to serve.

We lined clear trays with scrapbook paper to dress them up and tied matching ribbon around the cake pop sticks. The cake pops were strawberry cake with cream cheese icing. {cake pops tutorial here}
The oreo truffles were a huge hit! They are unbelievably good and were the first thing to go.

We made the brownie bites by baking brownies in a mini cupcake pan. Then we wrapped them with a mini cupcake wrapper made from scrapbook paper {will upload the wrapper template soon} and topped them with icing.
We used shirt boxes wrapped in white wrapping paper with ribbon around the side to give the desserts in the back a little height. We also hot glued some craft gems to the ribbon.
The strawberries were dipped in white chocolate.

The pretzel rods were dipped in vanilla almond bark and drizzled with candy melts.
The meringue cookies we bought from the grocery store.

The peach shortcake was served in plastic wine glasses. We layered pound cake, peaches, and fresh whipped cream.

The spring baby shower table was inspired by Martha Stewart. We used tissue paper flowers as napkin rings and to decorate the diaper cake. {diaper cake instructions here}. The lanterns were square glass containers wrapped in matching tissue paper. They looked really pretty when the candles were lit.

For the drinks we made cucumber and mint water and a peach pomegranate punch. For the cucumber-mint water, simply put sliced cucumbers and mint leaves in the water serveral hours before you are going to serve it. We also put out glasses garnished with sliced cucumbers.
The food was sandwiches and other light finger foods and snacks.
Since we had a large group, we kept the games simple. We did the classic guess the mom-to-be's tummy size. Everyone cuts a piece of string that they think is the size of her girth. Who ever gets the closest wins a prize.
The arch in the back ground was made by Nicole for the guest of honor's wedding. She happened to have it in the room we were using, so we used it as a backdrop for this table.

We put out a guest book for everyone to leave a message for the guest of honor.
We also did an envelope drawing for another game. Buy some thank you cards and have each guest fill out an envelope (like they are addressing it to themselves) and put the envelopes in a bowl. Draw out an envelope and the person's name that is drawn wins a prize. The guest of honor will also have thank-you cards with the envelopes already addressed.

For favors, we added labels to colored paper bags and had everyone take home treats from the dessert table. I love this idea because it allows everyone to take home desserts that they want to try or even bring home to their kids or significant other. The bags and the round scalloped labels were bought from Michael's.
Thanks to everyone who helped out with this spring baby shower!
