Love this fall themed diaper cake sent in by Lynn. She has shared several diaper cakes with us, and this is one of my favorites! I like how she layered different types and colors of ribbon and hid lots of goodies inside the cake that the mom-to-be will need. Here are the instructions as told by Lynn:

"For this diaper cake, I wanted to do a neutral theme but make it really pretty (to display) as well.

For the three tiers, I used the spiral diaper method. I tied each layer with white raffia to hole them in place.

The bottom layer I placed a bottle in the middle, wrapped a folded receiving blanket around it, and layered the diapers around that. I placed a small photo album on top.

I put a onesie in the middle of the second layer, wrapped it around sample size bottles of Burt's Bees Baby Wash, Lotion and Oil and layered the diapers around it. I also placed a digital thermometer, pacifier, rattle and baby spoon inside.
For the third and final tier, I layered the diapers around some rolled washcloths, placed some cute socks and link-a-doos inside.
The duck I placed on top, you squeeze it`s foot and it giggles. Very cute. I also placed a wrist/ankle rattle in front of it.

The ribbon took the most time to do. I used oranges, yellows and greens. I layered and hot glued the ribbon. It was hot glued to connect it together in the front. Using different textures and patterns created a fun and pretty theme.

I hot glued the yellow and orange daisies on the ribbon to hide where the ribbon met. This gave the whole cake a seamless look. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed making it!"

Thanks again Lynn!

Neutral-Themed Diaper Cake

Rolled all the diapers.
Used a large green polka-dot ribbon then attached a smaller yellow ribbon to the larger ribbon. Topped with a simple bow using the yellow ribbon and a few mini baby essentials. Pardon the counter clutter :)

Neutral Diaper Cake

by Wahkuna B. W. (blueskysbakery.com)

What you'll need:
30 Pampers
Assorted ribbons
Assorted sized Rubber bands
5oz baby bottle
Travel size baby powder

Neutral Diaper Cake Instructions:

Roll up Pampers and secure with rubber bands. Place powder on hard surface and add rolled Pampers around until bottom tier is built. Secure with larger rubber bands.
Do the same for the top tier with baby bottle in the middle. Tie ribbons around tops of diapers and curl with scissors.

This two-tier diaper cake is a smaller version of the standard diaper cakes and is great when you just want to give a little something. She used baby powder in the middle of the cake, but you could also use any other baby items like a bottle, shampoo, lotion, etc. You can also use a round cardboard cake tray for the base, so it is easy to transport.

Thanks for sharing Wahkuna!
