Guess Mommy's tummy size: Have each person cut a piece of yarn the length they think would wrap around the mommy's tummy. Then measure mom's belly with string and see who came the closest.
Materials: yarn, scissors
Guess the baby food:
Take the
labels off of 5-7 jars of baby food in a
variety of colors and flavors. Make sure to number each jar. Have
everyone taste each one and write down what they think it is. The guest
with most right, wins. To make it even more challenging, or in case of
a tie, use a blindfold so they can't use the color of the food to help
them. This is a classic baby shower game, but it can take some time
with a large group.
Materials: 5-7 jars of baby food, spoons, paper
and pencil, blindfold
(optional)
Dirty diaper game- Get 5-7 different kinds
of chocolate candy (Reese's,
butterfingers, Snickers, etc.). Melt each one and put inside of a
diaper. Have everyone guess which kind of candy bar is inside. They can
smell it, touch it, and taste it if they need to. This is definitely a
fun baby shower game. It is hilarious to see people smelling and
tasting the "poop"!
Materials: 5-7 types of chocolate candy, 5-7
diapers, paper and pencils
My water broke- Fill some ice
cube trays with water and put a tiny plastic baby inside each one and
freeze. After everyone arrives, give each guest an ice cube
in a cup. Whoever's ice
melts first and gets to the baby says: "my water broke" and wins a
prize.
Materials:
"My Water Broke" (Caucasian) - Baby Shower Game - (16 babies in tray)
"My Water Broke" (African American) - Baby Shower Game - (16 babies in tray)
Guess the baby pictures: Ask
everyone to
bring a baby picture with
them. Hang all the pictures up and number them. Have each person try to
guess who the baby pictures belong too. This baby shower game works
best for showers where everyone knows each other.
* If you are having a baby shower where many guests don't know each
other, you could find pictures of celebrities and their babies in
magazines and use those instead. Have everyone guess which baby belongs
to which celebrity.
Materials: baby pictures, thumb tacks to pin them
up, paper and pencils
Purse Scavenger Hunt:
Make a list of items
that might be found in a
woman's purse. Include things that are commonly found (lip gloss, keys,
pictures) and some more funny ones too ( birth control, old grocery
list, overdue bill). The person with the most items on the list wins.
This fun baby shower game is easy and takes little preparation.
Materials: list of items
Diaper Bag Game: Fill a diaper
bag with
items that the new mom will
need. Have the guests guess what items are in the bag. Make sure to
include a few items that are hard to guess! The person who gets the
most right, wins. The mom-to-be gets to keep the diaper bag and all the
items inside.
Another variation of this fun baby shower game is to blindfold the
mom-to-be and have her take each item out of the bag. She has to try to
guess what each item is by feeling it.
Materials: diaper bag, baby items to fill it with
(diapers, wipes, burp
cloths, socks, pacifiers, etc.), paper and pencils
Dress the Baby: Separate the baby shower
guests into groups of 4-5
people. Give each group a roll of toilet paper and have them pick one
person to be the "baby". Then each group makes an outfit for the "baby"
using the toilet paper. Let mom-to-be pick her favorite for the winner.
This is a fun baby shower game that will have everyone laughing!
Materials: roll of toilet paper for each group
The Price is Right Game: buy a dozen baby
items of various prices (like
a package of wipes, a pacifier, a jar of baby food, diaper ointment,
etc.) Keep a list of the prices for each item. Write all the items down
on a piece of paper with a blank line next to it. Give each player a
list and a pen. Show them each baby item on the list and have them
write down how much they think it costs. Then, have them total it all
up and see who came the closest to the actual total. Give mom the baby
items to keep.
Materials: dozen baby items, paper and pens
Baby Gift Bags: Take four gift bags or
paper bags and label each one
with the letters B-A-B-Y. Fill each bag with baby items that begin with
that letter. Have the guests guess what items are in each bag. The
person with the most right, wins. All the baby items go to mom-to-be.
Materials: 4 bags, pens, paper, baby items
Name that Baby Tune: Put about 10 songs on
a CD with "baby" in the

"baby" in the title,

Baby Bottle Race: Give everyone a small
baby bottle filled with a
beverage of your choice (juice, milk, water) and have a race to see who
can finish first. This is a fun baby shower game to play at a co-ed

race to chug their beer. It is very hard to do!

Bottles Up! A 6-Pack
of Baby Bottles -
Hilarious Original Baby Shower Drinking Game - (6 baby bottles)
Nursery Rhyme Game: open a nurserty rhyme book and select phrases from the rhymes. Give each guest a sheet of paper and a pen. Read part of the rhyme aloud (not giving too much away) and have everyone write down the title of the nursery rhyme. The person who gets the most right is the winner.
Another variation of this game is
to read aloud a portion of a rhyme and have everyone fill in the
missing word. For example: Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle.
The cow jumped over the ____. I used an easy one for an example, but
try to make them as hard as you can.
Baby Bingo-
since this is a popular baby shower game, you can find baby bingo cards
that are premade. If you want to make your own, just draw a
five-by-five grid on a piece of paper and make enough copies for each
guest to have one. Then you will need to make a master list of baby
words like: bottle, diaper, pacifier, booties, wipes, etc.
Write
a word in each square (making sure that each bingo card is different).
Put each word from the master list on a slip of paper and put in a
bowl. Draw a word out of the bowl and say it out loud. Have everyone
mark the word off with a pen or use bingo markers. Keep playing until
someone gets "bingo".
Pacifier Toss: Have everyone stand in a
circle. Have a guest toss a
pacifier to someone else in the circle. The person who catches the
pacifier must name a baby item and then toss it to someone else. Each
person only has 5 seconds to name a baby item and cannot repeat what
someone else has said. If they do repeat an item or can't name
something fast enough, they are out of the game. Keep playing until the
last person is left standing.
Materials: pacifier
