Materials:
40-50 diapers for a 2 tier cake.
3-4 different ribbon colors.Ranging from 3/8" to 2"-2.5"
Hot glue gun
Curling ribbon
5"-6" flowers
Assorted embellishments, letters, crown, trucks, stickers, wash cloths, pacifiers, bottles, onsies, trial sized products etc....

Instructions:
To roll the diapers I start with the design facing up and away from you. Roll from the top of the diaper tightly to the crease. Secure with a rubber band. I use the little ones you can get like 500 for a $1. {You can find these at beauty supply stores}

I use 2 different sized cake pans to hold the rolled diapers. Once you get the bottom tier done I tie it with a 1 yard piece of 3/8" ribbon. Repeat the process for each tier using a smaller cake pan.
I decorate the tiers separately then stack them.

From there I take whatever theme the person is using and get coordinating colors. I always start with a 2"-2.5" ribbon around the bottom, using a hot glue gun cut the ribbon to where it is snug against the diapers and glue the ends together. Then carefully work the ribbon down over the top of the tier and make it even with the bottom of the cake to form a clean line. Once I get the band where I want it I untie the 3/8" ribbon. I like to layer my ribbon so the diapers aren't visible.

From there I start adding embellishments.
To make the bows I take 4-6 inches of ribbon hot glue the ends, then put a dot of hot glue where the seam is. then push the middle down on the glue it forms a tail less bow. Then take a 2-4 inch ribbon repeat and then add a dot, jewel,flower,or nylon insect and make a center for it by hot gluing it on also. I never put hot glue on the actual diapers. :)

To make the washcloth roses, take a baby washcloth fold it in half then fold it in half lengthwise. Start with one end and roll it tightly holding it in one hand grab the bottom seams and fold them up secure with either a stitch or a piece of ribbon.

Between the layers, I use coordinating shredded paper. I add a Wooden dowel rod cut down to the height of the cake to add stability. Then put it on a 14" cake board and wrap with a cellophane bag and tie with either curing ribbon or a bow.

Thanks Jessica for sending in another adorable diaper cake!
